The Body: an eternal subject in art. The human form has been drawn since the beginning of time. It has been at the heart of artistic journeys because it represents the source of desire. CaroH captures the essence of the body's esthetic.
With her own unique approach, the artist-photographer invites us to reflect on our image and the present day perceptions that we hold regarding the Body. She explores many facets of our society's obsession with beauty and eternal youth, as well as our physical and emotional self-destructiveness; offering instead, the body as an identity, a erotic fantasy, the authentic body, and the body as a moment in time. She searches for the natural beauty contained in the human form, regardless of the shape or size revealed. This challenges us to recover the authenticity in body image. The artist-photographer pushes taboos to the limit and dares to recondition our thinking so that we can acknowledge and see the beauty which is ours and inhabits us, unique to each individual, so that we stop envying what the media projects as to what beauty is or should be. She reminds us that the perception of beauty is the energy that drives us.
The strength behind CaroH's work is the revelation of natural and pure beauty without manipulating the truth. Going willingly beyond all physical standards with which the media has conditioned our appreciation, she approaches human morphology in all its imperfection. Reality is not dressed up by ''lifted bodies''.
Her creations represent scenes that are often inspired by current music, as well as the master painters of the Renaissance, Post-Impressionism and the Art Nouveau movement. These are at the root of her preference for working, when locations permit, in natural light and/or in nature. Her works often tell a story, steeped in her own reality, her emotions, and the observations of her surroundings. She uses her own body, to represent formal figures in the art of her photographs.
